Zubeena Zareen was best known as the first wife of Dawood Ibrahim. He founded D-Company in Mumbai in the 1970s, which is reported to be part of the Indian criminal syndicate. He is wanted on charges of murder, extortion, targeted killing, drug trafficking, terrorism, and extortion. In 1960, Zubeena Zareen was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to Dawood Ibrahim and his first wife. Her name is Mehjabeen Shaikh as well.

Zubeena Zareen had two children together after she married Dawood Ibrahim around the 1990s. Few of her photographs are publicly available, and most are grainy and old. They had a child together when Mahrukh Ibrahim remarried Junaid Miandad (Javed Miandad's son).
The couple's third daughter, Maria Ibrahim, was born in 2012 after Mehreen, Zubeena Zareen's second daughter, married Ayub (a Pakistani-American citizen) in 2011.
