Bryan Kevin Porter Sr. is the father of Kevin Porter Jr. an American professional basketball player and led the Vikings to the state playoffs in each of his four years.

How did Bryan Kevin Porter Sr.'s died?
Bryan Kevin Porter Sr. died in July 2004 and by gunshot wounds (was shot five times in a Seattle bar while trying to help a friend). His son, Kevin was only four years old at the time of death.
While attending Rainer Beach High School, he excelled at a number of sports. His kid eventually enrolled there and played basketball with Jamal Crawford, another future NBA star from that school.
The high school basketball coach for both Kevin Porter Jr. and his father, Bryan Kevin Sr., had this to say about the elder Porter:
"His dad's main sport wasn't basketball, but his dad was a freak athlete. His dad could've been an NFL linebacker, but his main sport was baseball. When Big Kev was in little league, he was throwing 80 miles per hour. To me, he was relentless, like Ben Wallace out here. Big Kev brought [Porter Jr.] to the school a couple of times actually when he was younger, and I had met him."
Bryan Kevin Porter Sr. spend his four years in jail
First degree murder charges were brought against Kevin Porter Sr. in August 1993, just 15 months after Kevin Porter Jr.'s elder sister Keayanna was born. The primary witness said that while in the car, Bryan threatened to shoot the girl with the firearm before actually shooting and killing her.
Thankfully for Bryan, the witness revised her story, indicating that she had been pressured to make specific statements by the deceased girl's family. In her rewritten account, the child was travelling with Bryan when she asked to view his semiautomatic gun.
The gun was unfortunately loaded and primed when she touched it, so it discharged. And such was the tragic end of the young lady. The senior Kevin Porter admitted guilt and was sentenced to four and a half years in jail for the charges brought against him.
